All-round talent Mirjam Weichselbraun: Through programs such as "MTV Select", "TRL", "Dancing Stars", "Dancing on Ice", and "Live your Star!" this Tyrolean became one of Austria and Germany's favorite TV show hosts in recent years. Mirjam is a sought-after actress and voice actress, and will debut in cinemas in the fall of 2009 in the movie "Hangtime" produced by Sönke Wortmann and Tom Spieß. Since 2003, the amiable Berlin resident-by-choice has also been the ZDF's Online-Host.

Mirjam Weichselbraun was born and raised in Innsbruck, Austria. She has been refining her on-air and production management experience since 1998 when she began to work for "Radio Antenne Tirol". However the year 2000 was particularly important to her: The readers of "Bravo Magazine" voted for her to be "Bravo-Girl of the Year". Furthermore she began to work for "TV Tirol" as TV show host and production assistant. Among other things she was in charge of the culture program "Das Magazin". She gained reputation with German viewers as a host for "VIVA Plus". Together with comedy icon Michael Mittermeier and VIVA colleagues Milka and Janin, she hosted the media award ceremony "Comet".

In October 2002 she changed over to MTV, where she initially hosted the show "MTV Select". Since 2003 she can be seen on-air as the host of the travel show "MTV Travel & Trend". In addition she acted on the jury of "Starmania" (ORF), the Austrian equivalent to "Germany's search for the Superstar". Also, Mirjam has been a guest on numerous other TV programs such as "TV Total", the "Harald Schmidt Show", "Blond Poison", moreover she has rocketed down an icy slope in a wok on Stefan Raab's "Wok-WM".

Together with Christian Cerici she hosted "Expedition Austria" for ORF and the qualifiers of the "Eurovision Song Contest 2005", "song.null.fünf". Further she was the voice actor in the books-on-tape versions of "Gossip Girl", "Letzte Tage, jetzt" and in 2006 she contributed substantially as narrator to "The Devil wears Prada".

The ORF program "Dancing Stars" presented by Mirjam and Alfons Haider reached record viewership in the fall of 2005: The eight part series was the greatest TV success in the history of ORF. The series continues to be even more popular up to this day. For her performance on "Dancing Stars" she  won Austria's most coveted TV award "The Golden Romy" for "Best Talk Show Host" in 2006 and 2008. Furthermore she hosted this glorious award gala in 2008. Together with Alfons Haider she presented the charity event "Life Ball" in Vienna, the proceeds of the event were donated to AIDS-relief organizations.

Since RTL's "Dancing on Ice", which she hosted with Wayne Carpendale in 2006, she has worked increasingly as an actress. Mirjam acted in Pro Sieben's comedy film adaptation of the fairy tale Mother Hulda as Goldmarie. Alongside Maximilian Schell and Erol Sander she played the protagonist in the movie "Rosenkönigin". In the 2007 animated film "Bee Movie" she was the German voice of the florist Vanessa, the love interest of Barry B. Benson (spoken by Bastian Pastewka). She played "Sidney" in March of 2008 in "Halloween Horror Hostel", which was broadcast in "Pro Sieben Funny Movie" series. Shortly before, in December of 2007, she hosted the city-bet of "Wetten, dass..?" together with Klaus Eberhartinger in Graz, Austria. Moreover she presented the successful live-show "The Dome" (broadcast on RTL II) in 2008 and 2009 and was a guest on other TV Shows such as Oliver Geißen's "The ultimate Chartshow" (RTL) and "Extreme Activity" (Pro Sieben) with Jürgen von der Lippe. In September of 2008 Mirjam hosted two episodes of "Live your Star!" (Sat1) alongside Egon Balder.

In the fall of 2009 Mirjam's latest movie will arrive in German cinemas. The coming-of-age story "Hangtime" evolves around two unlike brothers Vinz (Max Kidd) and Georg (Misel Maticevic), who are both passionate basketball players. Mirjam plays the role of Kathi, who suddenly appears in Vinz' life....

Mirjam Weichselbraun lives in Innsbruck and Berlin. In her free time she likes to listen to music, go to concerts, read or cook for friends - she prefers Tyrolean cuisine. Furthermore she enjoys cinema, skiing and playing chess. For ZDF's "Mediathek" she has interviewed countless celebrities, among them Mikhail Gorbachev, Tom Cruise, John Malkovich, Cameronn Diaz, and soccer legends Franz Beckenbauer and Pelé. Her famed interview with "Horst Schlämmer" aka Hape Kerkeling belongs to "ZDF's most popular clips" on the website YouTube.com.
